Data Visualization at the Designing Peace Exhibition
Data Visualization is the graphical representation of information and data that is used to convey a message to the reader(s). The three primary visualizations of data are pie charts, bar graphs, and maps. The goal of Data Visualization is to make data simple and digestible for the audience to understand. The reader(s)/audience needs to understand the data being displayed in order for them to identify the trend and story of the information. The Cooper Hewit exhibition that caught my eye was the durable peace. Mainly because it has a monochrome map with a standout color that is supposed to outline something substantial. The point of the exhibition is to imply how design helps transitions from instability to peace. How can we establish a long term and transformative peace that benefits all divisions of society.
